Andy Robertson to Tottenham update: Spurs still pushing but there is one problem

Tottenham Hotspur are still pushing to sign Andy Robertson after a failed January move, but this could become more difficult due to a new update.

Back in January, Tottenham Hotspur were keen on signing Andy Robertson, but a deal never emerged to bring in the experienced left-back.

Instead, Spurs completed the signing of Souza, who has made three appearances since arriving from Brazil.

However, with Destiny Udogie prone to picking up injuries, it would not be surpising if Tottenham decide to add another left sided defender to their ranks this summer.

Tottenham still want to sign Andy Robertson

According to Football Insider, Spurs have not given up on signing Robertson, despite failing to do so in the mid-season transfer window.

The Scottish international has already turned down a move to North London, but Tottenham are once again planning to entice him with an offer.

Despite this, Liverpool are prepared to offer Robertson a new contract before his current one expires this summer.

Whether the defender puts pen to paper on a new deal could depend on if he is happy to remain a squad player. If this is not the case, a move to Spurs could actually make more sense.

Liverpool have been reminded of Robertson’s importance

Robertson landed on the scoresheet last weekend when Liverpool defeated Wolves in the FA Cup, reminding Arne Slot of his value to the team.

Milos Kerkez has not been performing well this season, which has left Liverpool wondering if they can really afford to part ways with the 32-year-old.

Ultimately, it is up to the player to decide on what he does next and with Tottenham’s own future uncertain, perhaps it is too early to be discussing a potential summer move.
