Ange Postecoglou reveals what has impressed him the most about Lucas Bergvall and names one area where the Swede can improve at Tottenham.

Lucas Bergvall has dazzled over recent weeks
Just a few weeks ago, plenty of Tottenham fans were extremely critical of the club for investing a huge chunk of last summer’s transfer budget on teenagers rather than readymade stars.
However, those decisions are now starting to bear fruit, with Bergvall, in particular, stepping up in a major way and showcasing just why there is so much excitement about his talent back in his home country.
One can argue that the Swede has been one of Spurs‘ most consistent performers over the last month and is now deserving of a regular place in the club’s starting eleven.

Ange Postecoglou reveals what impresses him most about Lucas Bergvall
While the 18-year-old was operating as more of a number ten at the start of the season, he has shown over recent weeks that he can operate in a slightly deeper role.
Postecoglou confessed that the most eye-catching thing about the teenager is the well-rounded nature of his game, which enables him to play a few different roles.
When asked if Bergvall reminds him of Jude Bellingham, the Tottenham head coach responded (via Football.London): “Hard to say. It’s always hard comparing players. He does seem to have that unique trait of being able to play those different roles in midfield.
“Usually, midfielders will tend to be one or the other, but he seems to cover the defensive side of the game, have the technical ability to dictate tempos but also have the running capacity to break lines.”

Postecoglou on what he expects Bergvall to do more often
The midfielder netted his first goal for Spurs last week, helping the North London side overcome Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal.
Far from being surprised by that strike, Postecoglou believes that Bergvall can score goals with regularity, given the finishing ability that the midfielder possesses.
The Australian added about the youngster: “I think he’s got goals in him as well. He scored his first one but from what we’ve seen in training, he’s a good finisher. That’s the exciting bit.
“We’ve got to temper that with the fact that he’s 18 and still got a lot to learn, but from my perspective, that’s exciting. The fact that there’s a few players in this team that are multifunctional in that way, it just gives you great scope for what we’re trying to create moving forward.”
