Ange Postecoglou calls Max Robson up to first-team training amid injury crisis

In the video shared on Tottenham’s official channel, academy midfielder Max Robson has been seen training with the Spurs first-team squad ahead of the clash against Wolves.

Ange Postecoglou faces being without two of his first-choice full-backs, with neither Pedro Porro nor Density Udogie training with the team this week, with the former picking up a muscle injury (Paul O Keefe).

It turns out that the Tottenham coaching staff have turned to the academy set-up to find a solution, with Robson being called up to training.

Max Robson called up to Tottenham first-team training

Although a midfielder by trade, the 21-year-old has featured a lot as a right-back in Premier League 2 this season, clocking up 10 appearances so far, with a goal and two assists to his name (Transfermarkt).

The youngster has been part of the Spurs academy for a long time, first catching the eye at the Under-16 level and being promoted through the age groups before establishing himself as a regular in the Under-21 set-up.

The youngster might hope that the unavailabilities that Postecoglou is dealing with might open the door for him to make it into the matchday squad for the clash against Wolves.

If Postecoglou is forced to start with Ben Davies and Emerson Royal, he would want at least one natural full-back on the bench. If Ryan Sessegnon is not fit enough to make the matchday squad for Saturday, that might present an opportunity for Robson to be named among the substitutes.
