Ange Postecoglou discusses his ‘significant’ and challenging Spurs rebuild

Speaking to the press today ahead of Tottenham’s upcoming game against Burnley, manager Ange Postecoglou discussed the impending rebuild he has planned for the squad, and accepts that challenges are part and parcel of that.

Ange Postecoglou has had two transfer windows to begin transforming the Tottenham squad now, and has made great strides in assembling a side that can effectively implement his style of play.

But, there is still work to be done. This has been particularly evident in the recent run of form for Spurs, which has seen them lose the last four Premier League matches.

The Spurs boss has spoken of the need for ‘change’ lately, and there have been multiple reports suggesting a number of players will be moved on by the club this summer, or at least will be made available for transfer, with a view to clearing space in the squad for new arrivals.

Challenges are part of the rebuild, says Postecoglou

In his latest press conference (via Football.London), Postecoglou touched on the great task ahead with this rebuild, and admitted there will be many challenges as a part of this. But, the Australian sounds confident he can lead the team out of the other side of the process.

He said: “We’re going through challenges at the moment but I always believe they’re a constant in any sort of significant rebuild you’re going through. It’s how you approach them and tackle them. It’s about being as visible as possible in that process.”

I for one am really excited about the continued rebuild of this squad. It’ll take time and a lot of patience, but if you can’t see that we are heading in the right direction here under Ange, I don’t know what to tell you. A lot of players need to move on, and a lot need to come in, and it will be fun to see that all unfold.
