Ange Postecoglou earns back-to-back Manager of the Month nominations

It will come as no surprise that Ange Postecoglou has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for a second month running.

No one, probably not even Ange Postecoglou himself, could have predicted just how perfectly the Australian’s start to life in North London would be.

Eyebrows were raised when Postecoglou was named as the new Tottenham boss this summer, but the promise of attacking football and the 58-year-old’s general charming demeanour won over the Spurs fans very quickly.

It helps that his team have adopted his methods so quickly, too. Performances on the pitch have been top rate, and results have matched them, with the Lilywhites remaining unbeaten so far in the Premier League this year.

Spurs are currently second in the league after seven games, with five wins and two draws after the dramatic victory over Liverpool last weekend. Postecoglou continues to get the best out of his players, too, with the likes of Heung-min Son and Yves Bissouma flourishing under their new manager.

Can Postecoglou win Manager of the Month again?

The incredible success Postecoglou has enjoyed so far has been recognised once again with a nomination for Premier League Manager of the Month.

Postecoglou will be looking to retain the award he won in August, but faces competition from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, and Newcastle boss Eddie Howe.

Only Arteta can match Postecoglou’s unbeaten start to the current campaign, but both Aston Villa and Newcastle have looked formidable throughout September, while Liverpool appear to be back to their best, too.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is a very good chance that Postecoglou will get this award again, and he would absolutely deserve it.

If I had to pick, I think I would give it Unai Emery just based on the fact that his Villa side have been on fire last month, but I don’t think anyone could really argue with Ange keeping the award this time.
