Ange Postecoglou has admitted that veteran Tottenham Hotspur player Ivan Perisic remains part of his plans for the upcoming season.
Tottenham kick off their Premier League campaign with a tricky fixture at Brentford on Sunday and will have to do so without their talisman Harry Kane due to his move to Bayern Munich.
The Croatian’s future in North London has been the subject of speculation within the media with the Evening Standard having claimed early last month that he was one of eight players which Tottenham are prepared to listen to offers for.
Perisic has caught the eye during Tottenham’s pre-season fixtures and arguably had his best outing during Tuesday evening’s 4-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Joan Gamper trophy where he linked up well down the left flank and showed his quality with his distribution of the ball.
Perisic still has a future at Tottenham
When asked about whether Perisic is part of his plans, Postecoglou told Football.London: “He’s been playing, and playing very well. I’ve followed his career for a long time, he’s an absolute professional, the way he looks after himself, and he’s had a really strong pre-season, in games and training. So he does have a future with me and the club.”

With Tottenham having lost vital leadership experiencing in the dressing room following Kane’s departure, there are very few senior players left amid a relatively inexperienced squad. Keeping Perisic at the club this season can only help to guide some of the younger players, especially the likes of Destiny Udogie and Micky van de Ven.
