Ange Postecoglou was asked about Hugo Lloris’ likely departure from Tottenham Hotspur at this afternoon’s press conference and admitted he was not sure of any latest transfer developments involving the goalkeeper.
Postecoglou was speaking to the media at Hotspur Way as part of the preparations for tomorrow’s Premier League encounter against Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Lloris has not been part of the Tottenham first-team set-up under the Australian after deciding earlier this summer that he wanted to seek a transfer away from North London and did not travel for the club’s pre-season tour of Asia-Pacific and the subsequent fixtures.
Despite being handed the number one squad number once again, Lloris’ time at Tottenham is coming to a close with Guglielmo Vicario having been brought in from Vincenzia to replace him between the sticks.
When will Hugo Lloris leave Spurs?
The French international has been heavily linked with a move to Lazio and has entered into talks with the Serie A outfit, however, Spurs are still keen to receive a fee for the former club captain, who has less than a year to run on his existing contract (BBC).
Postecoglou told Football.London when asked about the World Cup winner’s potential exit:” I’m not really across it. With the outgoings I have very little control over it. My focus has to be on what’s in front of us and who’s training. I’m assuming that as we get closer to the end of the window everything will accelerate.”

Lloris faces the prospect of either heading to Lazio, where he is not guaranteed to be their number one or face the decision to follow the latest trend and head to Saudi Arabia for a big pay day.
It is slightly surprising that there appears to be a lack of options on the table for the keeper,w ho has not played a senior game since April after injuring his thigh in Tottenham’s 6-1 loss at Newcastle last season.
