Ange Postecoglou reveals two injuries were picked up in Tottenham training

In his latest press conference ahead of this weekend’s all-important clash with Arsenal, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou discussed the latest injury news for his squad, and revealed that Destiny Udogie and Oliver Skipp were injured in training.

Tottenham have had a torrid time of it with injuries this season. Long-term issues kept key players like James Maddison and Micky van de Ven out of action from November to January and arguably cost Spurs a fair few points during that time.

Though things have calmed down a little now, Ange Postecoglou has rarely had a full-strength squad to pick from this year.

Once again, heading into this weekend’s North London derby, Postecoglou will be missing a key player, with Destiny Udogie out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery this week.

Oliver Skipp added to Tottenham’s injury list

Speaking to the press (via Football.London), Postecoglou was asked about the players on the injury list this week, and offered more insight into Udogie’s situation and new information on Oliver Skipp’s condition.

He said: “Disappointing one for Destiny and ourselves. He’s had a good year. Just an unfortunate incident in training. He’s had the operation, which has gone well and he’ll be back in pre-season. Skippy picked up a small knock so he’s not available this weekend.”

However, Postecoglou did have some good news, as he explained both Pedro Porro and Richarlison will be available this weekend after training through the week.

To be fair, losing Oliver Skipp is not a massive blow at this moment in time. He’s barely been playing anyway, and we’ve got a few midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order. The loss of Udogie could be huge though, and we will really feel his absence on Sunday.
