Tottenham Hotspur are back in action in the Carabao Cup this week as they look to bounce back from that dismal defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend, and Ange Postecoglou has offered an update on any injuries that will affect his team selection.

Spurs need to react after Palace game
Naturally, Ange Postecoglou will be hoping his team can give him a positive reaction and make amends for that loss at Selhurst Park, where the Lilywhites were second-best in every area to Oliver Glasner’s Palace side.
Spurs had gone into that game on the back of two impressive wins — the 4-1 victory over West Ham in the Premier League and a solid 1-0 win against AZ Alkmaar in Europe — but inconsistency has once again plagued the team.
The last thing Tottenham need as they look to put things right is a game against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side. However, the Spaniard has admitted he will not be playing a full-strength team for the Carabao Cup, due to the schedule his team faces this year.

Postecoglou delivers team news ahead of City game
That’s good news for Postecoglou, but who is available and who is on the injury list for Spurs heading into the game? Speaking to the press (via Football.London) today, Postecoglou offered an update.
He said: “Son is almost fit but probably from our perspective we’ll aim for the weekend.”
On Wilson Odobert and Djed Spence, he added: “Wilson has had a setback during the week and it seems like it is a serious one. From the weekend everybody is back and Djed is training.”
Tottenham have to go strong for cup run
Regardless of what Guardiola has said about how he will line up for the game, Postecoglou has to play a fairly strong team for this game. It’s important for us to put together a cup run, and if we can get past City, we’ll be one of the favourites. Postecoglou has a near-full squad to choose from, so let’s see how he approaches this one.
