Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham future could be decided as early as Friday

Recent reports have stated that Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou could be sacked as early as this week should his Spurs side lose their crucial Europa League tie to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Thursday’s second-leg clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Eintracht Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank Park has a lot on the line for the Lilywhites.

Failure to secure a victory in Germany on Thursday could well and truly end Tottenham’s 2024/25 campaign, as they would have nothing else to play for, given how poor their league form has been.

A loss against Frankfurt would also ramp up the pressure on Ange Postecoglou, whose job is very much on the line, with many feeling it’s only European involvement that’s kept him in a job at N17.

Ange Postecoglou Tottenham sack could come after Frankfurt

Now, fresh reports from Football Insider have revealed that all of that could change for Ange Postecoglou come Friday.

The outlet claims that Postecoglou could be shown the door as early as this week if Tottenham are dumped out of the Europa League by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Despite being contracted until June 2027, Postecoglou may be forced out just two years into the job, having originally succeeded Antonio Conte.

Postecoglou receives fitness boost for Spurs vs Frankfurt

The tie between Tottenham and Frankfurt is still finely poised after both sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Sealing a win over the German outfit will be no walk in the park, but it’s not beyond Spurs either. Despite coming into the tie off the back of a 4-2 away defeat, Postecoglou has been handed a timely boost.

In the clash against Wolves, we saw the return of a couple of his injured players, with Dejan Kulusevski getting a 15-minute run-out after replacing James Maddison.

We also saw Richarlison come off the bench and grab Spurs’ second goal of the afternoon, marking his return to action. Postecoglou will be hoping his players can rise to the occasion on Thursday in what is their biggest game of the season.
