Tottenham Hotspur have now officially confirmed their third signing of the summer in Cristian Romero from Atalanta.
The Argentine comes into the new season fresh off the back of winning the Copa America with his native country, alongside new Spurs teammate Giovani Lo Celso.
With Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth already leaving Tottenham this summer, there was certainly a vacancy at centre-back in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
Romero is Tottenham’s third senior incoming this summer, after Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gil from Atalanta and Sevilla respectively.
Man United were also said to be looking at the defender this summer (Sky Sports), however, the Argentine has finally come to N17 for a reported price of £47m.
Let’s take a look at how some Spurs fans reacted:

Great signing and welcome cuti….now ensure we get another as if he needs to play alongside dier, he is going to have to do double the work.

This is definitely Tottenham’s biggest name of the summer. It feels very much like Ruben Dias who got away last year, only this time Spurs were able to get their man. Let’s hope he can have a Dias/Van Dijk type impact on this struggling Tottenham defence.
