‘Announced soon’ – Report provides Fraser Forster update – Including contract length

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have now ‘wrapped up’ a deal for Fraser Forster, with the goalkeeper agreeing on a two-year contract with Spurs.

Forster is expected to replace Pierluigi Gollini at Spurs as Hugo Lloris’ understudy, with the Italian’s loan spell in North London coming to an end this summer.

The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that Forster has completed his medical at Hotspur Way ahead of officially signing for the Lilywhites.

Alasdair Gold even said on his Youtube channel that Spurs were expected to officially announce the Saints star’s signing by Friday.

While that has not quite come to pass, Football Insider have now suggested that it is only a matter of time before the deal is announced.

The publication reveals that Forster will be one of two free agents heading to Spurs ‘imminently’ along with Ivan Perisic.

It is asserted that the England international has agreed on a two-year deal with Antonio Conte’s men, with the deal expected to be ‘announced soon’.

Signing Forster and Perisic on free transfers represents a great start to the window.

It means that we have essentially filled two important gaps – a homegrown backup goalkeeper and a first-choice left wing-back – without spending a single penny on transfer fees.

That will mean that the club can allocate the majority of their transfer funds to bring in a top-quality left centre-back, a midfielder and a versatile striker.
