Antoine Semenyo situation could repeat with Andy Robertson amid £3m Tottenham bid

The events of Saturday potentially shed light on the current state of play regarding Andy Robertson’s rumoured move to Tottenham.

Over the last two days, plenty of reports have been suggesting that Spurs are in talks with Liverpool over a shock move for Robertson. Tottenham are said to be willing to offer around £3m for Robertson.

The talks seemingly began on the back of the confirmation that Ben Davies faces an extended period on the sidelines after fracturing his ankle against West Ham.

Tottenham fans are divided about the idea of landing the Liverpool man, with some seeing him as a player who can add a winning mentality to the dressing room, while others see the Scotland international as a player in decline.

Andy Robertson features for Liverpool amidst Tottenham talks

Robertson was not only part of the Liverpool squad for the trip to the Vitality Stadium yesterday, but he actually got minutes under his belt.

The 31-year-old came on at half-time in place of Milos Kerkez, as Liverpool came from 2-0 down to level the scores, only for the Cherries to take all three points with a dramatic late winner.

The fact that Robertson featured perhaps indicates that he is still very much in Arne Slot’s plan, despite the ongoing speculation linking him with a move to N17.

Thomas Frank reacts to Robertson to Spurs rumours

The left-backs’ appearance against Bournemouth may suggest that the negotiations with Tottenham may not be as advanced as they may appear. Then again, Antoine Semenyo played for Bournemouth right up until his Man City announcement, as Spurs fans know all too well.

As usual, Thomas Frank decided not to react to rumours, with the Dane keeps his cards close to his chest.

When asked if Spurs are in for the Liverpool man, the 52-year-old said (via The Mirror): “Just on that one, in general you don’t know me that well, I don’t speak about players that are not in the club, except Ronaldo and Messi. So, that’s no comment.”
