Antonin Kinsky has reflected on his Tottenham Hotspur 2025/26 season as a whole and revealed the people who played a huge role in helping him bounce back from his disaster in Madrid.

No matter what happens to the young goalkeeper from now on, there is no doubt that Kinsky’s redemption story will go down in Tottenham folklore.

Many thought the 23-year-old Spurs career was over after he came off in tears after a disastrous 17 minutes at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

However, as fate would have it, the young goalkeeper was given another chance due to Guglielmo Vicario’s injury, and he grabbed it with both hands, making crucial contributions in helping Tottenham avoid relegation.

Antonin Kisnky reveals what he found difficult

The Czech goalkeeper has now reflected on the events of that fateful night at Atletico, explaining that it was not the hardest moment in the season for him.

Kinsky revealed that being on the bench for the first two-thirds of the season was harder to deal with mentally, insisting that he never doubted he could perform at the highest level, given the work he had put in.

When asked about his bad night in Madrid, the goalkeeper told Football.London: “It feels as long ago as it actually was. The season was not about Atletico for me. Of course, for the fans, definitely yes, because it was a big moment to be knocked out of the Champions League and this played a big part, but for me, the six months on the bench were definitely harder than this one moment,” he said.

“It was just about believing, working, because I know I do the right stuff, I’m able to work, I’m able to perform well. I have the confidence based on the work that I do. The preparation made me feel well in this moment.”

Kinsky praises Spurs’ goalkeeping coaches

The former Slavia Prague man credited goalkeeping coaches Dean Brill and Fabian Otte for standing by his side through thick and thin.

Kinsky admitted that he is incredibly grateful to the pair for constantly pushing him to get better even when he was not getting any game time.

He added: “I have to say, for me, two people were crucial. It was Dean Brill and Fabian Otte, the goalkeeper coaches. Since the start of the season, which was going bad for me, they just helped me so much,”

“Every training session we did, we were pushing, we were doing so much every day. I’m really grateful to them.

“I don’t need to describe even more because they know it. I just want to mention because they were the most important people for me in this moment. Of course, then the coach came, and he lifted everything. But for me, these two people are the most important, apart from my family, because I spend every day with them. We just work, we just push, we just prepare, and that’s the key for this moment.”
