Antonio Conte explains how much longer Richarlison will be out injured for

Antonio Conte has revealed that Richarlison is set to spend between three and four weeks on the sidelines following the injury he picked up at the World Cup in Qatar (Rob Guest).

It was reported that Richarlison picked up the hamstring problem in the warm-up for Brazil’s penalty shootout defeat to Croatia, although the Spurs forward still played 84 minutes in that game.

He returned to Hotspur Way earlier this month to have scans and it was subsequently reported that Richarlison would be out for around five or six weeks (Football London).

That timeline appears to have been confirmed by Conte in his press conference this afternoon, as he predicted the Brazilian would be unavailable for the next month or so.

According to Dean Jones (GiveMeSport), the injury to Richarlison could see Spurs prioritise a move for a new attacker in the January transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Someone like Ruslan Malinovskyi would be a perfect January signing for Spurs. He wouldn’t be too expensive, he can play multiple positions across the front line, and he can allow Conte to rotate in the absence of Richarlison. It also feels like a deal Spurs could get done very early in January.
