Antonio Conte pokes fun at Chelsea legend John Terry on social media

Antonio Conte has taken to Instagram to poke fun at Chelsea legend John Terry and tell him to cut back on his biscuits.

Across his managerial career, Conte is infamous for his demanding approach to fitness and his brutal training sessions.

John Terry would certainly have experienced it first-hand during the pair’s time together at Stamford Bridge, with the Italian taking Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first season in the Premier League back in 2016/17.

After Spurs confirmed Conte as their new head coach two and a half weeks ago, Terry took to social media to tell Harry Kane to be “ready to go to work”.

According to reports, the 52-year-old has wasted little time in imposing his ideas on diet and fitness at Tottenham, having already banned ketchup, brown sauce and sandwiches from the canteen at Hotspur Way.

Based on Conte’s recent social media post, it appears that the Spurs boss does not let his former players rest easy even after their retirement.

When Terry posted a picture of a biscuit and a coffee on social media, Conte responded: “John only 1 biscuit.” alongside a winking and laughing emoji.

The former Chelsea captain reacted to the message by stating that he was “the fittest and in the best shape” of his career under the Italian coach.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Conte obviously has a reputation for being a hard taskmaster, the way that the likes of Terry, Fabregas, Lukaku and others speak about him, clearly shows that the Italian knows how to establish a good rapport with his players.

While Conte has fallen out with the likes of Diego Costa, the majority of players he has coached seem to have a lot of time for him and his methods.
