Antonio Conte reveals two Spurs players will return to face Sevilla

Speaking to Football.London ahead of tomorrow’s pre-season game against Sevilla, Antonio Conte has updated the media on the conditions of Dejan Kulusevski, Ben Davies, and Ivan Perisic.

Both Kulusevski and Davies had been carrying minor niggles which kept them out of Wednesday’s 6-3 victory over Team K-League (Football.London).

Both players played influential roles last season as the Lilywhites leapfrogged north London rivals Arsenal to secure fourth place and a return to Champions League football (BBC).

Davinson Sanchez deputised as left centre-back in Davies’ absence, whilst both Bryan Gil and Richarlison were given a chance to impress at right-sided forward whilst Kulusevski remained sidelined (Spurs Official).

However, Conte revealed to Football.London that Kulusevski and Davies are both under consideration for selection against the La Liga side: “Kulusevski and Davies are available for tomorrow’s game.”

Summer signing Perisic was also an absentee from Wednesday’s win and despite his ongoing recovery, Conte has emphasised the need for caution whilst returning the Croatian to playing duty.

“Perisic started to work with us. We have to go step by step because the injury was a serious one but it’s good that he started to work with us. When he gets back to London with us he can be involved in more training sessions.”

Both Kulu and Ben will be hungry to get on the pitch and impress against Sevilla. With the arrivals of Clement Lenglet and Richarlison, the left-footed duo will be hoping to remind Conte why they were regular starters in his side last campaign.

I’m really excited to watch Perisic in action at left wing-back, but at his age it is imperative that he is brought back to match sharpness gradually.
