Archie Gray reveals positives Tottenham will take from 5-3 defeat to champions PSG

Archie Gray has reflected on Tottenham’s 5-3 loss to Paris Saint-Germain and believes that there is one positive the Lilywhites can take despite the result.

Tottenham fell to their first defeat of the Champions League campaign at Parc des Princes, with the Ligue 1 side proving too good for the Premier League outfit in the end.

However, Spurs certainly competed admirably and were in the contest until late on, but a couple of sloppy moments at the back eventually proved their undoing.

Thomas Frank has said that he is delighted with the response he saw from his side following the debacle in the North London derby on Sunday.

Archie Gray claims Tottenham played the best team in Europe

Gray, who came back into the starting line-up after overcoming his injury, insisted that Tottenham were up against the best team in the Champions League.

The 19-year-old suggested that Spurs can hold their head up high with the way they competed against Luis Enrique’s men and take confidence into the clash against Fulham on Saturday.

Gray told TNT Sports: “We played against a top opponent tonight, they are probably the best team in Europe at the moment. There were some good moments we can take into Fulham.

“We scored some goals, there are things we can work on, but they are a top, top team, and there are moments you will suffer against them.

“They are the best team in Europe, and they are relentless in every aspect of their game, and they have that individual class. They are a top team, and there are things we can learn from.”

Spurs’ young guns prove a point to Thomas Frank

Frank has repeatedly defended his selection of a Joao Palhinha-Rodrigo Bentancur double-pivot despite the obvious issues the pairing has in possession of the ball.

Wednesday’s clash against PSG was just the second time this season that the Dane started Pape Sarr, Lucas Bergvall and Gray together.

The three youngsters certainly proved a point against one of the best sides in the world, playing with the kind of verve and enterprise that Tottenham have lacked in the middle of the park for much of the season.
