Argentina confirm whether Lo Celso and Romero will face Bolivia

Argentina have confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur pair Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso will not feature in their World Cup qualifier against Bolivia on Thursday.

Romero and Lo Celso were both named in their country’s starting eleven for the fixture in Brazil earlier this week, only for Brazilian health authorities to enter the pitch after Argentina included the three English-based players who allegedly contravened quarantine rules (BBC).

Football.London reported earlier today that the duo are expected to be fined by Spurs when they return to North London, but are now likely to head to green-listed Croatia to begin a 10-day mini training camp, rather than face sitting in a hotel room in England.

If they arrive back in the UK from red-listed Argentina, they would have to undergo 10 days of confinement at a quarantine hotel, and instead are tipped to travel to Croatia to mitigate any fitness issues.

They will both be unavailable for selection by Nuno Espirito Santo for Saturday’s Premier League clash at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.
