Argentine football expert makes exciting Alejo Veliz claim Tottenham fans will love

Football agent and Argentine football expert Filippo Colasanto has claimed he would have snapped up Alejo Veliz with his ‘eyes closed’ if he had been available, and suggests Tottenham have bagged a striker with the same kind of talent as Julian Alvarez.

Alejo Veliz was signed by Tottenham last summer from Argentine outfit, Rosario Central, in a deal worth a reported £13m (Football.London).

The youngster struggled for minutes at Spurs in the first half of the season, though, registering just 42 minutes of action across eight appearances, but he did score one goal (Transfermarkt).

Naturally, with players like Heung-min Son and Richarlison in front of you, it is bound to be hard for an up-and-coming striker to make his mark.

So, the decision was made in January to loan Veliz out to Sevilla. However, that switch has not worked out for anyone at this stage, with the 20-year-old making just three appearances for the La Liga side.

A report from Diario de Sevilla (as relayed by Sport Witness) has criticised Sevilla’s decision to take Veliz on loan. Meanwhile, it is thought Tottenham are not happy with the way the player has been utilised by the Spanish outfit (AS).

Alejo Veliz was a great signing by Spurs

Nevertheless, it is suggested Tottenham have got quite the talent on their hands, as Milan News shares an interview with agent and Argentine football expert Filippo Colasanto, who claims Veliz is one of the players he would have recommended from the South American nation recently.

Colasanto said: “I would have taken Alejo Véliz with my eyes closed, who then ended up at Tottenham, just as two years ago I would have taken Julian Alvarez without much thought.”

I can’t wait for Veliz to get back to Tottenham and show what he can do, to be honest. He seemed to be showing great promise until that injury stopped him in his tracks. It’s clear that us loaning players to Spain just isn’t working at all and we need to stop.
