A 19-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks, but the Lilywhites may now have to battle Arsenal and one other club for his services.
News first emerged last month that Tottenham’s scouts are closely watching a young wide-forward who is turning a lot of heads in Brazil.
Regular readers of this website would have guessed that we are talking about Vasco Da Gama winger Rayan, who Spurs have since allegedly made advances towards ahead of the January window.
Some sources have said over recent days that Tottenham may face competition from the likes of Brighton and Newcastle for Rayan, but according to a new update, those are not the clubs the Lilywhites have to be wary of the most.

Arsenal enter the race for Tottenham target Rayan
According to a new update from NTVASCAÍNOS, the Gunners have now set their sights on the Vasco youngster.
The report claims that Arsenal scouted Rayan in Vasco da Gama’s recent clash against Fluminense, in which he scored the opener as his side emerged 2-0 winners.
Mikel Arteta’s men were impressed by his showing, and they are now ready to challenge Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona in the race to land the wide-forward in January.
It thus appears that a three-horse race is developing for the Brazilian, but there may be one major twist in the transfer saga.
Vasco Da Gama have made a big Rayan move
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Rayan has a release clause of €40m (£34.3m) in his contract.
However, a couple of days ago, a new update suggested that Vasco are making a big effort to do away with the release clause and keep the wide-forward off the clutches of Spurs and others.
According to the update, which came from ESPN Brazil, a two-year contract offer is now on the table for Rayan, which, if signed, is expected to drive up Vasco’s asking price.
