Arsenal boss Arteta ‘angry’ amid concerns they could lose out on Spurs-linked striker

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly growing fearful that his side could miss out on signing Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus amid interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Mail.

The report claims the Spaniard is ‘angry’ at Arsenal’s indecisiveness in the transfer market, where the Gunners are insisting that all major transactions are approved by the club’s American ownership.

Jesus looks set to leave the Premier League champions this summer with Tottenham, Chelsea and Real Madrid all said to have the Brazilian international on their radar.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter on Friday that the 25-year-old looks set to remain in the Premier League, with Real Madrid having made initial enquiries but have not progressed talks any further.

Tottenham pipped Arsenal to Champions League qualification last season after Antonio Conte’s side came from behind to overtake Arteta’s team to finish in fourth place in the Premier League table.

Tottenham are already underway with their transfer activity having signed Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster, with Djed Spence potentially also arriving next week.

Conte wants to wrap up the majority of his business before pre-season starts and it is refreshing to see the club proactive in the market for once, rather than being in the same boat as the Woolwich.
