Arsenal face potential injury blow ahead of north London derby

Arsenal may face an anxious wait over the fitness of midfielder Thomas Partey ahead of the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.

Tottenham headed into the international break one point behind their bitter rivals who top the Premier League table following the first seven matches of the new campaign.

Gunners midfielder Partey was named in Ghana’s starting eleven for their friendly against Brazil in South America this evening but was forced to withdraw from the fixture having encountered an issue during the warm up, according to journalist Rahman Osman on Twitter.

He tweeted: “I’m hearing Thomas Partey has pulled out of Ghana’s game against Brazil due to knock. Was in the line-up to start but felt something during warm-up. Not the news Arsenal fans would like to hear.”

Tottenham striker Richarlison was in impressive form during the first half, having bagged a brace to put his side 3-0 in front heading into the half time break.
