Arsenal hand Tottenham major Kingsley Coman blow ahead of summer move

A new update has shed light on how likely Tottenham target Kingsley Coman is to leave Bayern Munich and the steps that a rival Premier League club have taken to move to the front of the queue for the winger.

Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern have developed a strong relationship over the last 18 months, with Harry Kane and Eric Dier moving from London to Munich, while Mathys Tel moved in the opposite direction in the most recent transfer window.

It first emerged last month that the two clubs could do some business once again in the summer, with Spurs alleged to have an interest in Kingsley Coman, who has been deemed surplus to requirements by Vincent Kompany.

However, it emerged a couple of days ago that Arsenal have shown the most serious interest in Coman, and the Lilywhites have now received further bad news regarding the Frenchman.

Arsenal and Tottenham both want Kingsley Coman

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now taken to social media to confirm that the 28-year-old is expected to part ways with Bayern this summer.

The Bundesliga club are already thought to be making plans to replace Coman, who is not only attracting interest from the Premier League but also from Saudi Arabia.

Plettenberg reveals that there is currently ongoing dialogue between the France international and Arsenal regarding a summer move, but the journalist makes no mention of Tottenham.

Spurs face one major stumbling block in the Coman deal

Even if the Bayern winger was willing to move to N17, the Lilywhites may still struggle to get a deal over the line.

That is because it has been reported that Tottenham may not afford to match Coman’s wage demands, with the winger’s high salary expected to put him out of the club’s reach.
