Arsenal legend admits he’s enjoying watching Tottenham struggle

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has tried to antagonise the white half of North London after claiming that he is enjoying watching Tottenham Hotspur struggle.

After topping the Premier League table at the start of December, Jose Mourinho’s side have since been in freefall and have dropped to eighth place.

Spurs have recorded just two wins in 10 league games, drawing three and losing five, which includes their last three in a row.

Arsenal are now just two points behind their rivals in the able despite Tottenham having one game in hand over them.

Parlour admits that he is making the most of the downturn in form in N17 and claimed that the Tottenham fans will not be impressed with how their side performed in the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Thursday evening.

Spurs will be looking to bounce back with a victory when they take on West Bromwich Albion tomorrow lunchtime.

He told talkSPORT when asked for his view on the Chelsea loss: “When you have a poor game, which they did against Brighton, it’s all about bouncing back, improving and playing a lot better in their next game, but they didn’t do that,”

“It’s at home, a London derby, you think: ‘Come on lads!’

“Jose has done this all his career; his teams haven’t been great to watch and that’s alright when you’re winning games. But if you’re not winning games and you’re still playing like that, you’ve got a massive problem.

“The Spurs fans have been used to a lot better football and winning games too.

“As an Arsenal fan it’s great to watch Tottenham struggle, but for Spurs fans they can’t be happy with the performance.

“The result wasn’t great, but the performance was terrible. It was a hard game to watch.

“I’m sure Tottenham fans will be saying, ‘but Arsenal are still below us’, but the performances at Arsenal have been a lot better, and Spurs are dropping down the league quickly.”
