Arsenal legend admits his injury concern for 27-year-old Spurs star

Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon believes that Harry Kane needs to be careful with his ankles.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward has suffered ankle issues with his most recent injury coming back in January during the defeat against Liverpool when he damaged both ankles (talkSPORT).

Former Spurs striker Clive Allen expressed concern at the time that the England captain may not be the same after suffering the injury.

Kane, however has scored five goals in the eight Premier League matches he has featured in since returning to fitness (transfermarkt).

Dixon expressed his concern for Kane while he was in action for England against Albania on Sunday, in which the captain scored and provided the assist for the other goal.

The 57-year-old believes that the 27-year-old now needs to start managing his ankles going forward since it can be more problematic with age.

Dixon said during his co-commentary duty on ITV (6:41pm, March 28, 2021): “A few Tottenham fans slightly worried about that interview. The only thing with Harry Kane I would say moving forward is his ankles. As you get older, it becomes difficult to manage.”

Kane’s injury record has always been a concern for Spurs fans, however with the arrival of Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius to try and take some of the burden off the marksman, Mourinho needs to manage Kane effectively if we are to have a chance of finishing in the top four.
