Arsenal legend asks Gunners record signing to emulate Tottenham player

Arsenal legend, Ray Parlour has asked Nicholas Pepe to emulate Son Heung-min’s consistency for Tottenham Hotspur if he is to seal his place in the Arsenal side.

The Gunners paid a whopping £72m to sign the wide man from Lille in the summer of 2019 but he has been disappointing since arriving in North London.

The Ivory Coast international has fallen down the pecking order since Mikel Arteta arrived at the Emirates and is seemingly falling short of the Spaniard’s first-chose eleven at the moment.

In stark contrast, Son has improved every single season since arriving at Spurs in 2015 and looks to have taken his game to a new level during this campaign.

The South Korean is currently sitting at the top of the Premier League’s goalscoring charts and is not showing any signs of slowing down.

After Pepe got a goal and an assist in Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Molde in the Europa League on Thursday, Parlour asked the winger to perform at that level on a consistent basis.

He told talkSPORT (as relayed by TBR Football): “Pepe has just got to get that little bit more consistency during a game. I just want to see if he can string four or five excellent games together.

“The big players, let’s go back to Spurs, Son does it every game and makes a difference in that team every single game and that’s what Pepe doesn’t do at the moment.”
