Arsenal legend blasts Spurs World Cup Stars

With the Gunners struggling to match Spurs on the field, former Arsenal employee Lee Dixon has taken to slamming our players off the field as while working as a (crap) pundit for ITV criticised the friendliness of Tottenham Hotspur’s England and Belgium contingent during their World Cup dead rubber match.

England trio Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Kieran Trippier were seen at half-time chatting to international opponents club colleagues Toby Alderweireld, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen.

And it was this that Dixon took exception with and Arsenal club legend criticised them for being so laid back.

Dixon told ITV: “I don’t know it’s Tottenham so they would do something weird. If it was me I wouldn’t be talking to my club team mates.”

In normal circumstances you would not normally see opposing players communicating during a game like the Spurs lads were, however with little at stake there surely isn’t a problem and I’m sure Gareth Southgate or Roberto Martinez would’ve said as much

Both teams had already qualified for the knockout stages and so the match felt more like a friendly than a World Cup match.

The Belgians won 1-0 through a goal from former Manchester United Star Adnan Januzaj, and England will face Colombia in the next round where Spurs English contingent will come up against club team-mate Davinson Sanchez and one can imagine this might not quite be so friendly.
