Arsenal legend crushes Kane over Chelsea performance

Tottenham Hotspur fans would have been thrilled to see Harry Kane back in the starting line up against Burnley last weekend, but it hasn’t exactly gone to plan for the England man since making his return.

Spurs hadn’t dropped a single Premier League point in the time that Kane was away injured, but have suffered back to back defeats with him in the starting line up.

Granted, the striker did score a goal against Burnley, but his general performances have been lacking, which can be excused considering he has just returned after six weeks out.

What can be called into question is why he has started two matches in the space of a few days, and maybe three in a week if he starts against Arsenal.

Paul Merson has now slammed the England captain for his performance against Chelsea on Wednesday night, claiming he was shocked at how little Kane did through the match.

Merson said (SkySports): “If you’d have just come over to visit England and gone to watch Chelsea vs Tottenham, and you went to see Harry Kane because he’s supposed to be one of the best in the world, you wouldn’t believe it.

“I’ve seen people have bad games, but he didn’t do anything in the entire game. Nothing. I was shocked. I don’t know if he’s still carrying his injury or what.”
