Arsenal legend Ian Wright predicts summer Spurs signing is going to be ‘amazing’

Ian Wright has revealed he was mightily impressed with Ivan Perisic’s full debut for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

After coming on as a substitute in Tottenham’s first two matches of the season against Southampton and Chelsea, Perisic came into the starting lineup in place of Ryan Sessegnon against Wolves.

The Croat was a danger down the left-flank all game, putting in several dangerous crosses throughout the encounter.

The 33-year-old also got the assist for Harry Kane’s goal as he flicked on Son Heung-min’s corner at the near-post in what seemed to be a rehearsed set-piece routine.

After the game, Antonio Conte praised Perisic’s display in the second half and admitted that he finally looked like the player he remembers from his Inter Milan days (Football.London).

The experienced wing-back took home the Man of the Match award for his tireless display, and Wright is in no doubt that Tottenham’s new addition is going to be a hit at the North London club.

The former Arsenal striker said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show (22/08/22): “Perisic, what I saw, he looked very good. He’s going to be amazing because he’s an amazing player.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt in my mind that Perisic is going to end up with 10-15 goal contributions over the course of the season. The 33-year-old’s ability to deliver inch-perfect crosses with either foot makes him a nightmare to defend against. Harry Kane will relish the service he will get from the Croat.
