Arsenal legend makes bullish January claim on Harry Kane’s Spurs future

Ray Parlour has confidently asserted that Harry Kane will be leaving Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

Kane has endured a poor start to the season following his failed move to Manchester City in the summer and the striker has been widely criticised for his performance.

However, he gave a timely reminder on Thursday of what he is capable of, netting a hat-trick against NS Mura after coming off the bench in the 60th minute.

Some reports have indicated that Manchester City are unlikely to reignite their interest in Kane and that the 28-year-old is open to penning a new contract with Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Alasdair Gold has revealed that Kane has no intention of moving in the January transfer window and is planning to see out the rest of the campaign with Spurs.

However, Parlour is quite confident that the England captain will leave when the transfer window reopens in January. He asserted that Pep Guardiola’s side will still be interested in Kane and it will once again come down to Daniel Levy’s valuation.

I have a hard time understanding why pundits would stick their necks out and make confident claims like this when even journalists with reliable sources are sometimes not sure.

The likes of Don Hutchison confidently alleged during the summer that Kane to City was a ‘done deal’, only to be left with egg on their faces when it did not happen.
