Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has begrudgingly admitted that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been one of the signings of the Premier League season so far.
The Dane has quickly become a vital part of the Spurs midfield and has shielded the back four brilliantly following his switch from Southampton.
Hojbjerg’s ability to sense danger and stop attacks at their source has been a key reason behind Tottenham’s defensive improvements, with the Lilywhites boasting of the second-best defensive record in the Premier League this season.
After forming a formidable partnership with Moussa Sissoko in the middle of the park, the Dane has shown over the past couple of matches that he can also provide a great foil for Harry Winks and enable the 24-year-old to show his creativity.
On the back of another solid display against Leeds, The Times’ chief football writer Henry Winter took to social media to lavish praise on Hojbjerg and Dixon agreed with Winter’s take.
Agreed😩

An Arsenal fan then suggested to Dixon that Thomas Partey could be even better than the former Southampton man, to which the former Gunners defender simply responded ‘hope so’.
Hope so!

Spurs Web Opinion
What separates Hojbjerg from other defensive midfielders is his positional awareness. The midfielder always seems to be a couple of steps ahead of everyone else, which allows him to make interceptions that others would not.
While one can argue that someone like Partey is a better athlete and technically superior to Hojbjerg, the Spurs midfielder’s ability to read the game seems unparalleled.
