Arsenal legend reveals whether he thinks Conte will leave Spurs this summer

David Seaman has revealed he would be shocked if Antonio Conte left Tottenham at the end of the season as he now looks settled at the club.

Conte is overseeing a transition at Spurs and will be aiming to drag the club back into the Champions League having been absent for two seasons now.

His side currently sits fifth in the Premier League, just three points off fourth-placed Arsenal with back-to-back wins against Brighton and West Ham bringing an end to a strange win-loss-win-loss pattern in 2022.

Conte has persisted with his 3-4-2-1 system – even through periods of difficulty – with the players at his disposal looking to have bought into his ideology.

And despite seemingly warning those above him at Spurs that he could leave if his ambitions aren’t met (Football.London), Seaman does not think Conte will part ways this summer as he looks to have crafted a squad capable of achieving success.

He told Sky Sports Super Matchday (20/03/22): “I would say he is settled. He certainly got the respect of the players. He [Dejan Kulusevski] called him ‘Mr Conte’, so that’s a big step.

“I like the way that he is on the touchline. I like the way he conducts himself in the press. He is passionate. What you see is what you get.

“I would be surprised if anything changed. He is getting there. These little dips, he will want to iron that out and get a consistent rise of performances. And they are capable of it.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Conte is a perfectionist and wants to extract the maximum out of everyone at the club, which is why supporting him in the transfer window is so important.

The system is there and some of the personnel fit it at this stage, so as long as that is built upon and improved there is no reason why he should consider upping sticks.
