Martin Keown has urged Arsenal to swoop for Wolves winger Adama Traore, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks.

It was reported last week that Spurs were looking to snap up Traore on loan with an option to buy him permanently in the summer.

According to sources, Antonio Conte wants to convert the 25-year-old into a right-wing-back and the player is open to swapping the West Midlands for North London.

However, over the last few days, it has been suggested that the winger is not close to leaving the Molineux Stadium.

Spanish publication Sport have claimed that Barcelona want to sign Traore and the winger is in favour of a move to Camp Nou in the summer.

Traore came off the bench to score a stoppage-time goal to seal Wolves’ win over Southampton on Saturday.

The strike was the Spaniard’s first of the campaign and Keown asked Arsenal to snap up the pacy wide man on the back of his goal against the Saints.

The former Gunners defender told BBC Final Score (15/01/22 – as relayed by Football 365): “I feel Traore is awesome at times and just for once, we have the satisfaction of seeing it.

“It’s a lovely finish from him. I’d sign him if I was a manager. Arsenal – get in and buy him.”

Traore’s goal on Saturday likely added to Wolves’ resolve of hanging on to the winger until the end of the season. If a deal for the 25-year-old proves unfeasible, it will be interesting to see which right wing-back Spurs turn their attention to as the position is certainly a priority to address for the North London club this month.
