Arsenal legend wants Tottenham to win the Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur booked their place in the quarter finals of the Champions League last night with a 1-0 win away to Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs went into the game already three goals to the good, with the away victory capping off a 4-0 aggregate win.

This sends Spurs motoring into the next round, equalling their best ever run in the Champions League.

The last time Tottenham were in the quarters was 2011 under Harry Redknapp, when they were knocked out by Real Madrid.

Pochettino will be looking to go one further and make the semi finals this time around, with few stand out favourites in Europe this season.

The holders Real Madrid were knocked out by Ajax last night, and Ronaldo’s Juve look to be struggling against Atletico Madrid, currently 2-0 down after the first leg.

Even Arsenal legend David Seaman has admitted he wants Tottenham to go on and win the whole thing.

Asked about the chance of Spurs lifting the trophy, he said (Daily Mail): “I know, that’d be ace, wouldn’t it!

“No seriously, I swear, I would want them to win. If they were in a final against a foreign team I would want Tottenham to beat them, no doubt about that.

“Say Tottenham were playing Bayern Munich, Barcelona, whoever – I would want the English team to win.

“I played 75 times for my country, I’d want the English team to win. That’s just the way I am.”
