Arsenal midfielder admits Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham side are ‘unreal’

Despite the intense rivalry between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, Gunners midfielder Declan Rice has described Ange Postecoglou’s side as playing ‘unreal’ football this season as he offers his thoughts on the leading teams in the Premier League.

It has been yet another absolutely thrilling season in the Premier League this year, and one Tottenham fans have been able to enjoy a lot more than the dismal showing last term under Antonio Conte.

Since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, Spurs have ditched the defensive, negative approach and have adopted the attacking, highly entertaining methods of Ange-ball.

Not only has it been far more fun to watch Spurs this year, but the results have been far better, too. As things stand, the Lilywhites are currently fifth in the league table, and have a good chance of clinching a top-four spot come May.

The title race is not quite out of sight yet, though, and that is certainly shaping up to be an enthralling battle. Liverpool currently lead the way, but Manchester City and Arsenal are not far behind, followed by Aston Villa who round out the top four.

Declan Rice praises Tottenham

Speaking to Sky Sports about the unfolding title race and the challengers around Arsenal, Declan Rice admitted he has been impressed by Spurs this year.

He said: “I hate watching it now, I hate watching it. I see the results but I just try to focus on what we’re doing. We can’t control what others are doing. The league is so strong. City are unbelievable, Liverpool are unbelievable, Spurs have been unreal under Ange, Villa under Emery have been so good as well.

“Every game is tough and you cannot overlook anyone and anything can happen. I’m really relishing going out every week and having to play really well.”

Any bias aside, this season has been—and is shaping up to be—one of the most exciting yet. The battle for the top four places is so tight and every team is on fire, Spurs included.
