Arsenal star takes strange swipe at Spurs and Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur have now finished above Arsenal for three straight seasons in the Premier League, with the Gunners also going without Champions League football for the last three.

While Arsenal have been enduring runs through the Europa League, Tottenham made their first-ever Champions League Final last season.

The argument regarding the biggest club in London at the moment does not appear to be a close one on paper when you look at the past three or four years.

What about when you bring Chelsea into the equation?

The Blues beat Arsenal in the Europa League Final last season to lift the trophy. Chelsea also won the Premier League in both 2016/17 and 2014/15.

So, again, it would be hard to argue that Arsenal are currently a bigger club than Chelsea either.

However, Gunners keeper, Bernd Leno, has now hit out at his two rival London clubs by saying that Arsenal are THE London club.

The evidence doesn’t seem to suggest that, Leno mate.

He told SportBild: “You can’t compare that, of course, Arsenal is a world club, THE club here in London.

“Not Chelsea, not Tottenham – Arsenal is the club here with fans around the world.

“No matter where we are, also in the USA or in Asia, there are many fans of Arsenal everywhere.”
