Arsenal stoop to new low in World Cup claim tweet

Our North London rivals Arsenal had seven players at this summers World Cup. Now only one got past the last sixteen and that was Danny Welbeck for England who only saw game time in the group stage defeat to Belgium.

However desperate as they are for some sort of recognition from the tournament they resorted to tweeting about CHELSEA forward Olivier Giroud a man who departed the Emirates after being shunted from their squad to make way for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 31-year-old didn’t exactly light up the tournament either, failing to score throughout and failing to register a single shot on target despite being key part of the team that clinch the trophy with a 4-2 victory in Moscow and starting the majority of the games, including the final.

The striker has made an impressive start to his life at Chelsea after he was sold to Stamford Bridge in January, helping the Blues to an FA Cup title, something he did several times during his time with Arsenal.

He was dumped from Arsenal to make way for Aubameyang despite the Frenchman being a popular figure at the Emirates as well.

But in true embarrassing Arsenal style they still tweeted their congratulations to CHELSEA man Giroud for his World Cup win, looking back at his path on how to get there and the clubs that he played for.
