‘Arsenal, Tottenham, City’ – Fiorentina boss reacts to Dusan Vlahovic reports

Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano has dismissed the speculation linking Dusan Vlahvoic with Tottenham and other big European clubs as not being credible.

According to SportMediaSet, Vlahvoic is one of the players Antonio Conte wants to be brought to Tottenham in January as a part of his rebuild.

Tottenham are alleged to have met with representatives from Fiorentina to discuss a January deal for the centre-forward.

Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal are also thought to be hot on Vlahvoic’s trail while Juventus are also said to be keen on snapping up the 21-year-old.

Goal Italia journalist Romeo Agresti claimed a few days ago that Fiorentina had decided to cash on Vlahovic in January to avoid risking the striker running down his contract any further.

However, Italiano has now suggested that he has no concerns regarding the speculation over Vlahovic’s future and that the 21-year-old is fully focused on doing his best for Fiorentina.

The Serie A club’s boss told TuttoMercatoWeb: “We are talking about a guy who has already scored 8 goals in 11 games despite not being able to serve him well in some matches.

‘He did not depend on situations off the pitch because he always gives his soul. He runs after everyone and when his teammates are in possession he tries to dictate the pass.

“Everything that happened before was not about his peace of mind. I think that an attacker who comes from a hat-trick is an attacker who is at the maximum level of confidence.

“The game also requires a different stimulus and attention. Seeing him arrive with this enthusiasm gives us confidence.

“I don’t read the newspapers, I’ve seen Arsenal, Tottenham, City, Juve, Milan…everything and more. Now they are just rumours and situations that are not very credible to me. The boy is concentrated and you have seen how much he cares about doing well”.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given the €80m asking price that is being reported for Vlahovic, I am not convinced that Spurs will make a move for him in January. Conte would likely look at positions like central defence and central midfield as bigger priorities to address.
