Aston Villa man claims Harry Winks would have got ‘straight red’ for his tackle in training

Harry Winks has enjoyed a very positive international break, featuring in all three matches for England and registering two assists in that time.

The Tottenham midfielder has struggled for minutes in the Premier League for Spurs over the last few weeks, with all of his recent starts coming in the Europa League.

The midfielder would have been delighted to be heavily involved for Gareth Southgate’s side and he certainly did his prospects of making it into the Euros squad no harm.

The 24-year-old admitted in an interview to Sky Sports that he feels comfortable around the England camp and enjoys the company of his international teammates.

However, it seems as though one of his teammates, Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings, was not particularly pleased with Winks’ antics this week, as it was revealed that the centre-back was on the receiving end of a two-footed tackle from the Tottenham star.

Winks wrote on his Instagram story: “That fake smile after two-footing @tyronemings,” added with laughter emojis and a serious face emoji.

The Villa star responded to the story by commenting: “Straight red in a game,” added with laughter emojis.
