‘At least show’ – Two club legends send strong messages to the current Spurs team

Neither Micky Hazard nor Ramon Vega were impressed with the effort that the Tottenham players put in at Craven Cottage, accusing the team of lacking fight.

There is no doubt that Tottenham have overperformed this season, given the expectations at the start of the campaign, particularly after the departure of Harry Kane.

While there is a lot of optimism among Spurs fans about what the Ange Postecoglou era has in store, on Saturday, they were dealt a stark reminder of just how far the side has to go in order to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

Tottenham legends were not impressed with Fulham defeat

The Spurs players perhaps showed their inexperience in West London, appearing quite lethargic and expecting their opponents to roll over and were punished mercilessly by Fulham.

Hazard took to social media to insist that Tottenham simply did not earn the right to play their football against Marco Silva’s men.

Meanwhile, Vega called on the Spurs players to pull up their socks and show some fight in the final run-in.

Spurs Web Opinion

I feel the accusations of lacking effort and desire are overused cliches and are often baselessly levelled at sides by fans after bad results, But in this case, I do not think those accusations are entirely unfair as the players did appear to be lacking in intensity and energy.
