‘At Tottenham’ – Danny Rose makes big prediction about Harry Kane

Danny Rose has waxed lyrical about how to complete Harry Kane is as a striker and confidently asserted that the Tottenham man will beat Alan Shearer’s Premier League record.

Kane netted the match-winner yet again for Spurs on Saturday as they overcome Brighton 2-1, with the striker taking his tally to 23 goals in the Premier League season so far (Transfermarkt).

The England captain is showing no signs of slowing down in front of goal and would fancy his chances of breaking Shearer’s all-time record of 260 Premier League goals in the next three to four seasons if he carries on scoring at the same pace.

The one asterisk next to Kane’s name is the fact that he is yet to lift any silverware, and reports have indicated that the striker might push for a move away from Tottenham this summer in order to give himself the best chance of getting his hands on a trophy (Football Insider).

However, Rose is hopeful that his former teammate will be able to lift a trophy with the Lilywhites to add to the legacy he has already created at the club.

The former Spurs left-back told FourFourTwo: “I’ve played with a few fantastic strikers, but Kane was frightening.

“Harry’s heading, goalscoring and penalty record are simply phenomenal, and he has the professionalism, ambition and hunger to match.

“I just hope he wins some silverware – and at Tottenham.

“He’ll overtake Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record, and it’d be great if he also bagged a trophy or two.”

Unless we manage to finish in the top four and attract a manager like Nagelsmann or Pochettino, it is difficult to see Kane signing a new contract.

So, Tottenham might have big a decision to make on whether to cash in on the striker and rebuild the squad or to keep him and risk losing him on a free in 2024.
