Aurier posts cryptic message indicating a potential new arrival at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotpur have been linked with several midfielders across the continent over the past few weeks as the club is looking to bring in a replacement for Mousa Dembele who departed to Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F.

Pochettino confirmed during his pre-match press conference before the FA Cup 4th round tie against Crystal Palace that the club is trying to get players in before the end of the month. Among the players linked with Spurs is PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot’s contract with the French giants runs out at the end of the season and he has failed to agree on a new contract with the club, meaning his departure is imminent. The likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona have been rumoured to be interested in securing the services of the 23-year-old Frenchman.

It was reported however a couple of days ago that Pochettino himself spoke with Rabiot in an attempt to persuade him to join Spurs, and it now appears that the Argentinian might have succeeded.

Serge Aurier, who was Rabiot’s teammate at PSG posted what appeared to be a cryptic message from his Instagram account. Check out the Ivorian’s post below:

Aurier since then has appeared to have taken down his post. Spurs fans will be hoping that this is an indication that the deal is close to being done, if not completed already.
