AVB gives update on Modric bid saga

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that there have been no fresh bids for Luka Modric.

Real Madrid are known to be heading the race to sign the Tottenham midfielder but are some way off meeting our valuation of £35million-£40million for the Croatian.

Modric is back training in England after he refused to travel with the Spurs squad for their pre-season tour to the USA to the fury of chairman Daniel Levy.

The only way Modric will be allowed to leave is if his valuation is met, it’s as simple as that.

“There is no news at the moment,” said Villas-Boas.

“The player is training in London. There have been no further bids, no improved bids. The value hasn’t been met for what we think is correct.

“We have a big squad and we are fielded in most of the positions, so we just have to wait and see how that deal goes or doesn’t go.

“If the player eventually stays, he is a player of fantastic talent for us and will certainly add to our squad.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. modric will have made the biggest mistake if he goes to play in spain. very few players make regular appearences on the pitch when they change from premiership to laliga.

  2. Modric should go to Madrid and Bale should’ve gone to Barca. Bale the poor guy got stuck into the web of levys deceit. It’s a shame that great players are wasted and their full potential talent isn’t explored due to some shrewd capitalism.

    • Full potential wasted? You mean sitting on the bench of Madrid or Barca. Bale did the right thing as he will get all the playing time he wants at Spurs. Oh, by the way Modric had no problem signing a long term deal when no one was after him. Josh, maybe you should go back to school and learn what happens when you sign a contract, surprise! you are expected to honor it otherwise don't sign it.

    • you idiot bale earns £110,000 per week he ialso lernin his trade playin weekineek out.yo must b a sad gooner ,or chelski scumbag go play your silly games elswhere lttle boy.
