Some Tottenham fans on social media believe that Jose Mourinho might have a thing or two do with Harry Kane pulling up with a muscle injury ahead of the Three Lions’ Nations League clash against Belgium.
The Spurs boss asked Gareth Southgate to be careful with Tottenham’s England contingent last week, citing the number of games they have played in since the start of the campaign (Football.London).
Responding to Mourinho, Southgate insisted that he is not looking to play any player in all three matches that England had coming up (The Evening Standard) and true to his word, the England manager rested Kane as well as Eric Dier against Wales, although Harry Winks did get a start.
However, news emerged last night that Kane had sustained a muscle injury and was a doubt for England’s Nations League fixture against Belgium this evening (Sky Sports).
Some Spurs fans were actually pleased to hear that the striker might not be involved in the match, suggesting that Mourinho might be behind the striker’s decision to potentially pull out of the match.
However, others were worried about the news as they insisted Kane was not the type of player to fake or exaggerate injuries and hoped that it was nothing serious.
He can miss England's game, as long as he'll be fit for our next game I don't mind… Bale Kane and Son must happen

When Harry Kane picks up an "injury" the day before the England game that Jose really didn't want him to play in! 🤫#thfc #harrykane #injured #jose pic.twitter.com/ilnYkeIuUY

So Lo Celso and Kane both with ‘muscular’ injuries during International Break. Surely this is just a Jose mind Trick 🤞

Kane wouldn’t fake a injury

I’m not liking all this ‘José Injury’ stuff. Kane is a professional that absolutely loves playing for his country and is proud to wear the armband. This is the sort of stuff that fuels ‘journalists’ to come up with the same conclusion and slander him. I really hope it’s minor 😰

Just heard that Harry Kane is suffering from a muscular injury. If this is true then awful news, but means Vinicius will be starting against West Ham.
Let’s hope it’s only minor and Kane is okay 👍🏼#COYS #THFC— Sons of Jose (@SonsofJose) October 10, 2020

Spurs Web Opinion
Kane is the sort of striker who pushes to be involved in every single match that he can be. So, even if he is 70 to 80 per cent, he will want to be involved later, given how important the game is. Let’s hope that Calvert-Lewins’ and Ings’ showing against Wales convinces Southgate to rest the England captain this evening.
