Tottenham defender Serge Aurier has had a disappointing season for the Lilywhites after much was expected of him at the start of the season.
The Ivorian actually began the season as the first choice right back after Kieran Trippier returned late for pre-season after being part of England’s World Cup squad last summer.
However, due to inconsistent performances and injury problems, the 26-year-old soon lost his place to Trippier.
However, Trippier also failed to impress with his performances and came in for a lot of criticism.
It turns out that Aurier’s poor run of form continued on international duty when he started for the Ivory Coast against Uganda in an international friendly on Saturday.
The Spurs full-back gave away a penalty, which was converted by Uganda midfielder Farouk Miya as the visitors ran out 1-0 winners.
Needless to say, some Spurs fans were unimpressed with Aurier’s erratic defending and demanded that the club get rid of him this summer. However, one or two fans did leap to the Ivorian’s defence
Really has been an awful signing. Massive liability when tackling in the box

This guy is a car-crash waiting to happen. The sooner Poch jogs him on the better.

To those giving Serge Aurier grief, did anyone of you watch the match or the highlights against Uganda? That's how the same nonsense started with my main man, Mousa Sissoko, and we all know what happened next. Give the fella a break! #THFC #COYS

Don’t get the hate towards Serge Aurier, he’s actually been alright when played this season, one penalty conceded on international duty and everyone gets on his back

Spurs Web Opinion
There is no doubt that Aurier has failed to live up to expectations since signing from PSG two years ago. However, we at Spurs Web don’t think it will be wise for the club to get rid of both him and Trippier this window and think it will be wise if the club kept him around as a back up for one more season.
