Although the International Champions Cup ended with disappointment for Tottenham as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Thursday, the trip, on the whole, was a successful one for the club.
The players who were part of the trip got a good run out in both games while Spurs fans also got their first look at their record signing Tanguy Ndombele.
Additionally, Pochettino also fielded a lot of youngsters in both games and the likes of Troy Parrot, Oliver Skipp, and Japhet Tanganga showed that they have the talent to compete against top players.
However, there were a few negatives to come of the game against United including Paulo Gazzaninga’s performance in goal. The Argentine was arguably at fault for Manchester United’s opening goal as Anthony Martial’s shot squeezed through his hands and ended up in the back of the net.
Some Spurs fans took to social media after the game to express their fears in starting the season with Gazzaniga as No.2
What kind of recovery times are we looking at on average for Hugo's Tonsillitis? After that preseason game I'm not hugely excited by the prospect of starting the season with Gazzaniga in goal…

Caught up on United match. Some negatives:
-Sissoko & Dele looked well off the levels of others.
-Ndombele took one of the worst corners I’ve ever seen 😂
-Felt for Georgiou being asked to play LB role again (he’s a winger by trade).
-Gazzaniga’s performance was… concerning.

Spurs Web Opinion
It is quite honestly unbelievable how fickle some fans are. It was only a few months ago that many fans were calling for Gazzaniga to be made Spurs No.1 after a drop in form for club captain Hugo Lloris. If the Argentine continues making errors in the next few games, then it could be cause for concern but for now, he has more than earned the No.2 shirt at Tottenham.
