‘Back above the Woolwich’ – Some fans react to Spurs’ 2-1 win against Aston Villa

After a miserable run of three consecutive Premier League matches which all ended in defeat, Tottenham Hotspur have finally returned to winning ways and moved back into the top half of the table.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were 2-1 winners against Aston Villa in what was a tense afternoon at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham could have comfortably been 3-0 ahead at one stage of the match following Pierre Emile Hojberg’s opener with Emerson Royal, Heung-min Son and Harry Kane all having gone close.

Villa levelled in the second half when Ollie Watkins tapped in from close range, but Spurs wasted no time in going ahead once again when some fine work from Son on the left hand side saw the South Korean tee up Lucas Moura to finish from a couple of yards out, which saw it credited as an own goal to Matt Targett.

Kane was inches away from beating Martinez at his near post on 78 minutes which could have put the game to bed, however, the striker’s wait for a top flight goal this season continues.

Some Tottenham fans have taken to social media to share their reaction to the performance in North London this afternoon.
