Bad news for Spurs as rival prepares second bid for reported Prem target

Tottenham Hotspur will surely be in the market for a new right-back this summer after their three current stars all endured up and down seasons.

Kieran Trippier failed to hit anything close to the highs he reached in Russia in the 2018 World Cup for England, while Walker-Peters looked inexperienced at times and Serge Aurier struggled with his own injuries and form.

It is unsurprising then that Tottenham have been linked to one of the best up-and-coming English right backs in Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Sun).

The Crystal Palace full-back enjoyed a wonderful breakthrough season last year, sparking interest from some of the biggest clubs in the country.

However, Tottenham’s hopes of securing the signature of Wan-Bissaka are looking slimmer by the day as Man United are showing a strong interest in the player.

United had a £40m bid turned down at the weekend, according to Sky Sports, and now the Red Devils are preparing a second bid (Sky Sports).

The reports suggest that Spurs or United would have to offer closer to £60m for the right-back.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham should go all out to sign this lad, as not only does he look like a great prospect, but he also solves the biggest issue in the Spurs defence. Spurs should lodge a bid of £50m this week for the full-back, as they would surely make half of that back with the sale of Aurier or Trippier. Who knows, Wan-Bissaka may prefer a move to Spurs.
