‘Bags of goals’ – Postecoglou makes claim about Kane and Son at Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou has been discussing the season ahead and promised Tottenham Hotspur fans they should see plenty of goals, and even mentioned Harry Kane as a source of those goals.

After a long search for a new manager in the wake of Antonio Conte’s unceremonious departure from Tottenham, former Celtic boss Postecoglou was the man chosen to lead the Lilywhites into the forthcoming campaign.

Despite initial trepidation, it seems the Spurs fan base has warmed to the Australian pretty quickly.

Decisive moves in the transfer market – such as the acquisitions of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison – have certainly helped.

However, it is the 57-year-old’s propensity for attacking, exciting football which has really changed the atmosphere in North London.

Before a ball has even been kicked, it appears Spurs fans are already firmly behind their new manager.

Postecoglou hints at goals for Spurs next season

In a fan Q+A on the club’s YouTube channel, Postecoglou spoke about his intention to get his team scoring lots of goals next season, and hinted Harry Kane and Heung-min Son will be contributing plenty.

He said: “Hopefully Harry and Sonny score bags of goals and they’re not the only ones.

“There’s no such thing as an ugly goal, every time that ball crosses the line the emotion that it brings to people, I love.

“It’s still the best part of the game for me. It unites people, it unites strangers, it doesn’t matter who you’re standing next to when the ball goes across that line that’s who you’re hugging.

“So hopefully the boys score bags of goals.”

Spurs Web Opinion

With Ange Postecoglou’s free-flowing system, we could see Harry Kane and Sonny flourish more than ever, and hopefully those around them, too.

It’s hard not to get excited about next season now, which is a nice feeling compared to how we all felt last term.
